Cajun Comedy Night!

Red Nose Day 2004 a Success | 8/11/2004, back

The second annual Red Nose Day, benefiting the McMains Children's Developmental Center, took place on Friday, May 7th. Over 80 companies and several schools participated this year by wearing Red Nose Day t-shirts, neckties, and red noses on May 7th. Governor Kathleen Blanco was the chairperson for this years event which netted over $25,000 to help fund the services the Center provides to children with cerebral palsy, developmental delays and learning disabilities. The Center is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary of serving children in the greater Baton Rouge area.

Sponsors for Red Nose Day included McDonalds, Albemarle Corporation, The Alchemind Group, Camp Highlander, Abel Financial Services, Inc., Citizens Bank & Trust Co., and State Farm Insurance Co.

The McMains Children's Developmental Center is a therapy center for children with cerebral palsy, developmental delays and learning disabilities whose mission is to enable the children to reach their potential and to function as independently as possible. The Center provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, educational therapy, social work services, and psychometric testing. The McMains Children's Developmental Center is an agency of United Way and an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy, and has been serving children in our area since 1954.
