5th Annual Developing Dreams Breakfast | 09/25/2008, back
On September 25, 2008, McMains Children's Developmental Center held its 5th
Annual Developing Dreams Breakfast at Boudreaux's. The audience was
entertained with board member, John Pastorek as the emcee. A special pledge
of allegiance was given to clients of the Center, Luke Ickes and Titus
White. Associate Pastor, Alec Flynt of First Presbyterian Church gave the
blessing. Coach D-D Breaux was presented with the Dr. Frank McMains Helping
Hands Award for her years of support to the Center and allowing the children
to use the LSU gym for summer therapy sessions over the past 10 years.
Coach Paul Mainieri was the keynote speaker. He did a wonderful job of
inspiring the crowd to never give up and press on through trials in life.
Then, the Center played a moving video featuring the story of center client,
Sam Seidel. It also highlighted the Center's programming and services of
speech, physical, occupational, and educational therapy. It was a huge
success raising over $100,000 in donations, sponsorships, and pledges.
