Keep Up To Date With Us

When the LSU Tigers beat Bama, had an undefeated season, won the National Championship game, and had a Heisman winning quarterback, that was a part of history that we could all wrap our heads around. Unfortunately, COVID-19 will also make it into the history books but for very different reasons. However, I think we are contributing to history by our responses to this pandemic crisis.
McMains Children’s Developmental Center is certainly not immune from what we are all going through. We closely followed the updates and the fast-moving spread of COVID-19 into our state. Our goal was to remain open and to serve our patients for as long as possible. Having to shut down a business is never the ideal situation. Medically necessary services are disrupted, and cashflow halted, but, as the reality of the situation came into focus, the safety of our families, staff, and the community became the priority.
In the meantime, we have taken this as an opportunity to identify ways we can better serve our community. We developed a resource page on our website with links to information about the virus, how to stay safe during this time, and educational and entertainment activities. We are also updating our social media accounts with activities to do at home, ways to manage stress and anxiety, and information about what we are doing. Please like and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and share with your friends.
We are now developing a blog here on our website to better communicate relevant, informative, and even fun news, updates from the Center, and ideas that can be put into practice at home. Hopefully, this will become a welcome resource that opens a window into what goes on at the Center as well as the latest trends and breakthroughs in the world of child development.
If there are any questions you have about the Center, the therapies we offer, or just have an idea that you think might be useful for others, we would love to hear from you! Reach out to Drew Walker at firstname.lastname@example.org with any thoughts you have about the blog or things you’d like to see us talk about more.
As always, I hope you and your family are safe and healthy and we look forward to what the future holds!
