The McMains Children's Developmental Center Parent's Page
At The McMains Children's Developmental Center, our mission is to identify and treat children with cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and learning disabilities to enable them to reach their potential and to function as independently as possible. The Center additionally aims to enhance the quality of life for the families of these children. The McMains Children's Developmental Center (MCDC) is an affiliate of United Cerebal Palsy and the United Way.

Our center helps children in the Greater Baton Rouge area, and surrounding 12 parishes with cerebral palsy and other disabilities such as sensory processing disorders, severe speech and learning disabilities, AD/HD, and autism.

Notice to Parents
The Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) has changed the way it will implement services for Medicaid and LaChip recipients. If you have either Medicaid or LaChip you should have already received information regarding this from DHH. The new approach to Medicaid fee-for-service is a managed care plan called Bayou Health. DHH has contracted with five private health plans who are responsible for coordinating and managing the care of their members.

Our Center, as a licensed Medicaid Outpatient Rehabilitation facility, is allowed to be a provider for three of the five Community Care Networks (CCNs).

These are:
  1. LaCare (AmericaHealth Mercy)
  2. Amerigroups
  3. La Healthcare Connections

We are already a provider for United Healthcare. If you have any questions about this please contact your social worker here, Melissa McKee, or Janet Ketcham. Or you may contact the Bayou Health hotline 1-855-BAYOU-4U (1-855-229-6848).
